The Cobb’s Wren

The rippling, meandering Llangollen canal
So supremerly serene
Betwixt gorgeous, gorged valley ravines
Amongst the pretty pastures green
My husband & I hired a long narrow boat
slowing up the pace of hectic life for a week
Whilst we marvelled at what Wales has to offer us
Mooring up in little marinas joining in with the boating clique
Following on through the currented canals
Narrowing only to a single file
Chugging along in Cobb’s Wren
Passing other boaters with salute & a smile
Crossing over the Pontcysylite Aqueduct
Awe inspiring jaw-drop below
Lighting our front beacon,
blowing our horn
to warn oncoming boaters thru the tunnels as we go
One has to keep vigilant
There may be narrow boats ahead
Racing onwards in our direction
to bump into our forwards tread
Such beautiful scenerey beckoning our distant views
Friesian dairy cows drinking in the canal edges
Greeting our welcome with Welsh ‘Moos’
What a wonderful Welsh/English holiday
Learning narrow boating,
having a great time
This green & red painted long boat
Has been a treasurable memorable devine

I love this Jill, I have a couple of friends who live in a 72ft narrow boat and they took me over the Pontcysylite aqueduct one time. The only time I think that I accurately used the word awesome.
Great write
