The concert of my life

One day back in the 80s I fell in love with Opera, I listen to everyone,Then one day I bought a book on an Enrico Caruso I read the book I looked all through the pictures, I begin to wonder what it be like to go see him in a concert or and opera, His voice must've been wonderful but what would've been like to be there wow must been great, I want to bed that night and fell asleep and I had a dream, i'm standing on the street corner and I look down the street and I can see old cars and people were dressed in old clothing, I looked across the street and I can see a lot of people standing in line so I thought I'd go over and see what was going on I looked up and saw on the building that said the Metropolitan opera on the billboard it said and Enrico Caruso in concert May 17, 1917, I said oh wow I would love to go see him, Then I saw in my hand a ticket to this concert I said oh wow, it started at 8 pm so i ask some one what time it was thay said 7:15 pm oh wow, so I went in and sat down looking at the Metropolitan opera how beautiful it is, now it is 7:45 the orchestra just come in and the concert is about to begin when I feel I have to go to the bathroom so I thought I better go before it starts I get up to look for a bathroom when I notice I was in my own bathroom at home I had woken up out of the dream and missed the concert of my life,

This made me laugh Greg...I've had such dreams several times where I see my most celebrated stars only to wake up and fine myself on my bed.... it's usually very disappointing...Nice!
Thank you Rose its funny when your in a dream and you think its real and you wake up and think what its just dream and try to back to sleep hope you dream it agin and you don't
Ah Greg! Waking up from such a wonderful dream is heartbreaking. Even though it wasn't real...you must still feel bereft and short-changed by your own psyche.
Caruso was a fine singer; but, to my mind, Maria Callas was the greatest opera singer of the 20th Century. Unfortunately, I never got to see her onstage...she died the year before I was born.
Lovely poem.
J ;)
thank you Jason yes Maria Callas had great voice I was listening to her last weekend on the radio and so did Caruso have great voice thank you so much for reading
Dreams can come true, maybe not this one, but well sleep on it. Enjoyed reading.
thank you Shirley maybe when I get to heaven maybe he will be there
Dear Greg,
I had records by Caruso, in nineteen sixty nine;
I also had a "Victrola" that played them in their proper time!
I listened in amazement, to his voice bestowed by God;
Notes unknown then to any other, the Angels gave their nod!
Pagliacci was my favorite, took me to heights I'd never known;
This greatest opera singer, the genius he had shown!
His name is now synonymous, with the epitome of his trade;
Our dear friend Enrico Caruso, so happy you us made!
Peace and Love,

Dear Greg,
When it comes to Caruso, one can go on and on forever about his genius. I hope to see you at Starbucks today, so we can talk all about him. I want to tell you about this unbelievable record I had by him. I had no idea you were such a fan of his, because I have been one since I was a little boy, and my father introduced my to his great voice. Hope to see you later.
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
