The Country Girl

She is a Country girl at heart
Born & raised on her Grandpas farm
A free spirit, flower child
She inherits her Mammas infectious charm

As pretty as a picture
with the cutest freckles on her face
So full of personality,
such a friendly, frivolous grace

Josie is the heart & soul 
of the Beveridge clan
Tho she appears so fragile
she gets stuck in like a man

Tending a small holding
Feeding a flock of sheep
Infact the only time she’s not busy
Is when she is fast asleep

Such an asset to her Grandpa
& since her dear Father died
Josie has been a pure Godsend
She’s stood right by her Grandpa’s side

Whatever would he do without her ?
He once thought he would never cope
After his son, his right-hand man passed
Well he almost gave up hope

But just like her Dad, this little lass has steel
She took over from her Dad’s demise
Josie’s helpfulness has zeal

She doesn’t desire the city lights
Josie’s contentment is so clear
She plans to stay with her doting Grandpa
So he need not ever fear
