In the mythical realm of faeries,
Beneath the moon soaked sky,
A darker world lies unseen,
Where twisted creatures thrive.
Whispers weave through ancient trees,
With secrets cloaked in night,
Beware the playful shadows,
Dancing just out of sight
Beware the faeries of the night,
With eyes that glint like stars at dusk,
Their laughter winds through tangled woods,
Creating a chill that haunts your soul.
In shadows concealed, they weave and glide ,
They dance upon the graveyard stones,
Their wings stained with blood,
Their beauty masks a cruel intent.
The faeries of the darkened woods,
Are far from gentle souls,Â
They lure you in with whispers sweet as wine,
Then they shatter your dreams of light.
Their voices are a whispering lure,
That echos in your mind,
Promising riches untold,
But with a grave price.
For once you’re ensnared in their grasp,
With no hope of dawn’s first light,
They’ll trap you in their wicked games,
And hold you in their dark embrace.
Their magic weaves a darkened spell,
That’ll ensnare both heart and mind,
You’ll wander lost in shadowed dreams,
To roam forever through endless nights
Beware the faeries of the dark,
For they are not what they seem,
Their beauty masks a treacherous heart,
A nightmare woven into a dream.
So heed this warning, take care
And steer clear of their snares,
For once you’ve felt their frigid kiss,
You’ll drown in dark despair

Those dark little naughty creatures. Transports us to our sweet childhood. I enjoyed reading this. Hi Lucy! Welcome to Cosmo.
BernadeteÂ
Thank you
I better to stay clear of their snares. Good warning Lucy. Â BÂ
Oh, this is a lovely poem, Lucy. It brings to my mind Christina Rosetti's poem — The Goblin Market and also that old poem about the Knight who fell in love with a fairy queen who got spirited away ... I forget the name, but it was in French, the title was, not the poem. Thankyou for writing such a lovely poem and posting for us to read x
Thank you so much! It means a lot that my poem reminded you of The Goblin Market—I love Christina Rossetti’s work. Maybe the poem you’re thinking of is La Belle Dame sans Merci by John Keats. I’m glad you enjoyed reading my poem, and I’m really grateful for your kind words!
The John Keats poem...yes, this is the one I mean — a great poem x
