The Days Of Having You

Nothing was more beautiful, than the days of having you;

I’d never felt such happiness, or love that was so true!

The moment I laid eyes on you, my heart began to melt;

With feelings that I’d never known, and joy I’d never felt!

I sat down as you ran to me, and jumped into my lap;

You gave me kisses everywhere, I was totally enrapt!

Something happened to our souls, that first day that we held;

They bonded for eternity, never to be felled!

Our lives together had begun, we taught each other much;

You learned how to wear your leash, and to walk among the brush!

I learned how to be a man, and practice Buddha’s Way;

To honor every living thing, and protect them every day!

For almost fourteen years we trod, through nature and through life;

Then one day your time was done, now my tears are ever rife!

I miss you more than words can say, my heart’s eternal blue;

For the greatest days I’ve ever known, were the ones I shared with you!
