The Devil from Hell

The Devil from Hell

One day and it hopefully won’t be too long away
We will break these shackles from our freedom and book a well-earned holiday
Mind you it would be so nice just to go out in our car to stroll the silky sands coz it isn’t that far
But the trouble is right at this moment in time fellowman has a colossal hurdle that they have to climb
Driving in one’s car is simply out of bounds, in this uncertainty of isolation we aren’t allowed to do the rounds

Meanwhile we are all just trying to get by and it is times like these one could breakdown and cry
but don’t they say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger ?
We may be in self isolation throughout the summer or it could well be longer
So yes each and every one of us has had an important lesson of education to pull together in unity as a caring commonwealth nation
Life as we know it has been taken out of our hands whilst we listen to the laws from our Government’s demands

Only time will tell if we can win this infectious fight as we stand two meters apart from everybody in sight
Washing our hands with alcohol sanitizer, soap and water suffices but the other is a maximizer
Keep away from people it is for our own good so when we social distance it is not that we are being rude
Corvid-19 is impossible to see and it has no smell with it’s infectious ability
Alas we do not know when it is around lurking like the Devil from hell with no dam soundΒ

Favorite line:Β

Alas we do not know when it is around lurking like the Devil from hell with no dam soundΒ

I like the ending line because it sure does feel like we are living, hell on Earth right now, well -- for those who are afraid of this virus and they should be. I don't think people are afraid enough to remain indoors. I worry about the stimulus money coming, how we'll all be at the stores, shopping, buying supplies, meanwhile, the germ could be on us, or on a shopping cart, or a person may not even know they are sick and need to pick up a prescription.

We need face mask so badly. But I never realized, these masks need sanitized, making them even harder to get a hold of. I'm online looking up mask, I will not go into another store without gloves and a mask. I'm sick right now, and my mind darts to" OMG, it's the dreaded corona virus, it is a very frightening time in life. Too many people have been lost to this pandemic, more to come. It's like the entire world is at war with an alien.Β

Thank you, Jill, for sharing your wonderful poem. Take care. Stay busy :)Β
