The Disabled Poet
As I see my days of immobility flowering
I consider myself a fortunate man
For to live daily, as such, is empowering
My mind is on fire and I like who I am

For many poets, not only, as Shakespeare
Puts it to the players
" Holds the mirror up to nature
and shows nature her own features."
---------------------------------------------
We are blessed with this beautiful language
As poets have shown us down through the ages
We show them our praise reading their creations
With alert senses, open minds and personal ovations
---------------------------------------------
My disability has taught me to appreciate myself
When, as a cocky young man, I held such selfishness
But these days, through healing, I find I have a wealth
Found from the love of poets, here in our little runnel
This place I find sacred, my family here, on Cosmofunnel.....

Poetry articulates the ideals, beliefs, reasoning and principles of the soul. To be a poet is to unshackle yourself from worldly restriction and express all you are, what you represent and hope to be. Poetry writing cleanses and teaches through process giving the well-being required to further learning and understanding. You come to know who you really are.
It gives in a way that can reduce stress and limit pressure caused by illness be it physical or mental.
