The Enchanted Photograph
I have a cherished photograph, it’s my favorite one of you;
Your head is tilted to the side, for you’ve heard a loud kazoo!
Just eight months old and full of frisk, we thought you never would sit still;
But the photographer we called one day, said “I guarantee he will!
We were skeptical but said “Okay”, and set your appointment date;
We went there on a Saturday, in the morning, not too late!
We set you down on the posing spot, then waited for you to bolt;
But when she blew into her big kazoo, your movements came to halt!
This priceless pic with your head awry, I will treasure for all my days;
For you’re no longer here with us, but I’ve wondered if there’s a way!
To jump in and then be with you, until the ends of time;
A photograph of both our souls, forever there entwined!
