The Eyes

The eyes staring at me as I wander off.

The eyes always come, always are. Never don't, never were.
I leave, but they stay, for they are stuck. Stuck here, and stuck there, but they never were.
They used to be free. Souls like any of us, till the blackness came and they got pulled out of the joy, and were banished into pain.

The eyes protecting me at all their cost.

Humanity might watch me every step of my life, judge me every second of my day...
But once I'm with the eyes I can be me, for they won't ever dare to judge me.
As long as I keep them with me, everywhere I go, for then they can also still taste the sweet bits of life they've still got...

The eyes staring at me as I wander off.

The eyes protecting me at all their cost.

If I leave the eyes, they get mad. They won't protect me if I leave, for their me, and I'm them.

I get lost in them as they get lost in me.
That's how only I am, and only we are.

The world doesn't matter, they think enough, for why would I care, if they would never understand.

The eyes tell me it's okay to cry, tho humanity says it's weak.
I'm here and I'm now, that's what the eyes say, before I go to bed.

The eyes speak, without saying a word, for as soon as I open my eyes back to the world, it turns out I never really were there, and they never where here.

Truely poetic! in the very haunting sense of the word. A terrifically beautiful Poem of originality, eyes that Speak. And so true too.

I really like the concept of "the eyes" as being non-judgemental and contrasting them with the rest of humanity. We all need to believe that in this world there exists a section which just supports and never judges. For me the key line is "they're me and I'm them." Long may it remain so.
