Poem -

THE FAIR NO LONGER THERE

The smell of fried burgers filled the air
That tempting smell too much to bear
A carousel ride for both the old and young
The power of strength for the highly strung

Dodgems were there beware of the crashes
The bearded lady also had false eyelashes
Hook a duck to win a massive cuddly toy
The stories of a fairground when I was a boy

I remember most the delicious candy floss stall
Sold toffee apples too choosing one a difficult call
So many memories all the fun of the fair
I look back on it fondly wishing it was still there
