Poem -

the fallen

  • in a field with damp and mud wish we could have just one more hug to tell you i love you before i die im scared and lonely but i wont cry i see the soldiers on the line ill drink my last flask full of wine before i charge and fight for you is this a dream this war is true i look around at bodies there the smell of death is everywhere i cry and load my final gun one last salute before i run i hear the screaming i see friends die all these lifes lost i wonder why these poppy feilds will turn to gold and children will hear our story told i kiss my picture of you so dear the bombs are closer now i can hear i charge and fight with thoughts of you never forget the fallen who never made it through
