The Falling King of Roses

I sit here
In my wait
Not making the mistake
Of booking a date
For your return.

I sit here
In my wait
For a man who's already moved on
Should I continue to hurt?
Should I continue to hurt?
Should I continue to hurt?
My heart knows no compromise
So with blood in my eyes
I dawn my crown of roses
And return to the edge of sanity
To visit my imaginary kingdom
The City of Flowers
Where your image is present in the sunflower fields
And my blurry subjects begin to push up daisies
The newborn silence takes ahold of my heart
And the blood continues to flow down my face
As my subjects begin to fade
My kingdom is slipping off the edge of its cliff side foundation
Pushed onto the brink by those beautiful daisies
And as my kingdom falls off the edge
The king sits on his lowly throne
Eager to meet his subject in the afterlife
Because just like a captain
He feels the need
To sink with his ship
