The Farmyard alarm 🐓
“Coo coo coo.. coo coo” sounded the speckled Pigeons repetitive call
Sat precariously perched amidst an old farmyard barn upon a lean-to ledge on a drystone wall
Alas he was far too busy crowing when a sly old red Fox sneaked behind him with a cautious, creeping crawl
But just in the nick of time before the Fox was about to pounce, a big black brahman Bull let out a booming, bellowing bawl..
Now it was just the very same scenario but on a different day
When three minute Moorhen chicks were hopping about happily lost in play
Running around amok betwixt Farmers Tait’s newly stacked fresh bales of hay
As solitary sombre Jack of a Donkey let out an enormous echoing “NEIGH!!!” “NEIGH!!!”..
You see little did those mischievous, merry Moorhen chicks know or actually get to see
A big boar Otter was just about to grab them in his claws, as that Ass in his acute awareness saved their bacon luckily
And this is the reason why there are so many different varieties of animals, living together around and about on a countryside farm
Each and every single one of them are constantly on the look out, warning one another incase they come to any harm…
