When did it arrive and when did it come ?
The first word spoken was it dada or mum
Mummy and Daddy must have been so proud
Was the first word spoken softly or loud ?

Maybe the first word was blue or ball
A long time ago I cannot possibly recall 
Mum and Dad must have been filled with joy
The first word spoken by their darling little boy

I pity the people who cannot ever speak 
How difficult it must be week after week
These people deserve extra love and care 
No words spoken is so terribly unfair
