The flavor of the neighborhood

I woke up today and looked out my kitchen window
after the rain,autumn leaves were swirling to the ground
brilliant colors yellows,reds,browns,
winter is on its heels,no more summer or spring this year,
just Autumn and winter arriving soon
the air is crisp the sky is blue
with what looks like brush strokes for white clouds
there are American flags flying and the cats roam the birds
sing the wind is kicking up today and everyone is inside
staying warm as for me I am on my way to church
and I am looking forward to a new day,a chance to pray
to ask God for his many blessings
to talk to the Lord in the assembly of the brethren amen.
