The foggy dew

Thick fog at the dead of the night
Densely shrouding the tall street light
Only a faint flicker I can see no sight
Its vision is frightful shadowy blight

Dampness loitering in the moist air
Vagabonds & vagrants dwell there
Be extra vigilant, please be aware
Zero visibility so take great care

Caution approaching every wall
Fearful of bumping, stumbling a fall
Peas pudding, not nice at all
Scaring one witless, making skin crawl

Imagination gets the better of you
Footsteps following but you don’t know who
Quickening  your pace hurrying through
Condensed curtain of fuzzy dew
