THE GIRL WITH A ROSE IN HER HAIR

The girl with a rose in her hair 
Looked so pretty just standing there
Her hair was blonde and her eyes were blue 
She was a beauty that much is true

I approached this girl not knowing what to say 
Hoping to find an answer on this bright summer's day 
I asked her directions to a so and so street 
Each time I listened my heart quickened with every beat 

When the conversation was over and we finished our chat 
I asked her out for a coffee just as simple as that
Whe​​​​​​n she said yes I nearly danced with delight 
I would be seeing this rose haired girl again on Friday night
