The Grey

The Grey

Arise my friend I can show you the grey not the space or the darkness
The middle thought in between where we all need to see
It is something that awoke to me through torture and hate
Then I realized you needed to hear it too
Into the blue it took me into relevance of things I never thought
So hear my friend is the surmise of my true thought
It was not you or I or I or you we did not fight til the color showed red
When the air hit us we ran into the ground exchanging blasts of hate
This is what occurred on the night my brain stood grey
It was they they found a way to tear us far apart
Through our minds they bent it our kind loving hearts
They took the leaves from on the tree and formed them with their names
Claiming ownership upon them the forest was the slave
We wanted what they said they had to the point of unending hate
Took up our swords and bought it with shackles from the grave
It was not I or you my friend that tricked our equal blue ways
Another told us how to live and taught us how to behave
They took so much from the trees the air turned fall away
Printed there on the bark was higher than where we became
We traded it for hand in hand the love we knew as grey
Placing them on the top perched upon the plains
Which left us in the dust building for their stake
You see my friend to find the end something middle must play
It was the blue that turned to red sending us our separate ways
The tree they took it was not theirs to make want through the days
If we could only be the grey to find a better day
You see my friend this is not the end can you hear the middle play
They turn our face into the fight to blind our grey
When we see the tree tops our blue will never stop
We will love each other once again upon the earthen plains
Awake our equal blue and stand in the grey
