~ The Grey Wolf Comes Hunting ~

~ The Grey Wolf Comes Hunting ~

The threat of pain twists to despise
The taste of ruination, lapped from dreaming eyes
I awake most days to repetition's wild side
The grey wolf comes hunting my every endeavor
Hell's executioner, poised, and adorned in leather
O punishment, I surrender, with arms open wide

I find no beauty from the light retired
I have learned to embrace pain, so death inspired
Far, far passing, even my prayers grow tired

Of the grey wolf come hunting, my pride to keep
Even as I write, I recognize, there will be no sleep
O punishment, I dwell in the grief, of all once admired

Those who did flee, today, have returned to see
A strange fashion forsaking, whatever gods there may be
Black as the dream-pit, that has illustrated to me
That the grey wolf comes hunting and has my soul afire
Yet, what of the Third Eye, where the mystics are required
To challenge this punishment, and set free my misery

I awake these days, to a most familiar wild side
Where the grey wolf of my dreams, turns to hide
For my Third Eye has opened, yes opened quite wide
Setting free, a pristine energy, that has always been me...

Hello Tony,
this takes the reader through such isolated suffering. I could really feel the agonising torture. The need to find away to conform to the suffering, allowing it to become the new norm.

But then a spiritual lift occurs, as they take control through their third eye. Silencing that grey wolf. Finding inner strength and power.

A wonderful write on the human ability to overcome the unthinkable
