The Happy Place

The Happy Place

The sights and sounds
Of nature all around.
The excited exclamations.
We have arrived.

Four days and three nights
I will enjoy no fights.
My happy place.
My Joy.

During the day, lead;
During the night, leave.
The campers asleep.
I wander with others like me.

These friendships will last,
No matter how far in the past.
These are the best people.
These are my people.

In the end there are tears
And memories for the years.
His head in my lap.
Ooo-ooo I wanna linger.

I leave the happiness behind,
Only to wish I could rewind.
I will return.
Until next year, Joy.
