The humble red Robin ❤️

The humble red Robin ❤️

Flip flapping went the red Robin with the broken wing

As it hopped around my garden, the poor little thing

And as I watched it in the raindrops I felt my heart sing

Full of sorrowfulness for the sadness that his sight did bring..

Then as I stared out of my window pane, the sizzling sun popped out

Whilst droplets were dripping from my drainpipe like a water spout

But that red Robin looked happier without a shadow of a doubt

As it bathed in those puddles after such a summer’s drought..

And I thought to myself ‘What a humble little bird’

He was chirping in the evening sunshine so I never said a word

Coz his singing was the sweetest song that I had ever heard

And huh the thought of me sounding so happy with a broken arm, would be so utterly absurd…
