The iron curtain

The iron curtain

The audience's applause
The reason and the cause
For walking into the light
For leaving thoughts at a place
were nothing is wrong or right.

Becoming someone unknown
A masterful act, just part of the show
That illuminates the image of a character pulled from darkness
That what used to be forgotten created into something not to be missed.

Entering the world of the smiling faces
Laughing the misunderstandings away, as they try understand it based upon their gazes
The succession of that what's gotten displayed and presented in front of them
The public, the visitors... a bunch of ordinary men.

A choice to reveal the truth
A choice to hide it as a lie
Because no matter the performance
Only it's details can be seen by the naked eye.

A baby turned into a boy
The boy turned into a man
An actor, a performer and a liar for all what can't
be said and spread with words
Opening a broken heart until it hurts

The final showdown put into one last emotional dance
Reflecting me taking an idle stance
As whatever I thought to be real moved so fast and beyond my reach
As whatever I tried to explain turned into rather a figure of speech.

Lights getting dull
Remembering the story when it begun
As I bow and watch them leave
As I ask if what I did was a good relief
Comprehended by those who never filled these shoes
Those who came for entertainment
Those who had nothing to lose.
