the last Christmas

the last Christmas

the last Christmas

the tree you bought
fell apart ..the tinsel  dull
the baubles blunt..
it didnt have the heart
to shine and dazzle
but stood there in the corner
 a dutifull soldier holding on
to sweet life..

breathing in the morphine
remembering a mothers love
it all seems superficial
ribbons and bows
but we will take another cup
and drink..every year
for your grandchildren,,
and now their babies too
holding them with arms that
held you..xx
