THE LAUNDRETTE

THE LAUNDRETTE

Just down the bottom of my streetĀ
Assorted British characters converge and meetĀ
Not in a pub or in a barĀ
Nor at the bus stop or in a carĀ

The place of which I refer gets everything cleanĀ
Makes everything new again and almost prestineĀ
The laundrette is the place of which I speakĀ
A place I visit once or twice a weekĀ

As I wait for my clothes to be washed and doneĀ
I listen to the stories being told which is enjoyable and funĀ
So the next time you visit your local laundretteĀ
You will have the time of your life I'm going to bet
