The Maze

We entered the maze to find the middle,

Hand in hand, we got lost in each other, your smile was radiant as ever

We were in control, we danced, we loved, we kissed, do you remember?

I held you up high, to see the light guide us forward.

I didn't care if you fell on me, the closer, the better.

On our journey to the centre we saw some sights didn't we? our smiles for all to see.

The glistening light through trees were our paparazzi

Congratulations and joy was upon your face, as we approached the heart.

Ive never seen such a beautiful smile, I told you I loved you, my best friend, 

The feeling knowing I had filled you with love, we reached the core.

Lets return to the start, ill race you.....

At first more of the same. Cheerful antics we did display. 

the rains began, we took for shelter

We took a wrong turn, we were cut by a thorn.

I tried to heal the wound, you wouldn't listen

before we knew it, the storms started to form.

I tried to shield you, but you wanted to run, no form of delay.

Too much pressure, and no more fun.

you reached the end, you shut the door.

now i'm left on the track, waiting for a clear day.

even in sense of drowning sorry, Im not bitter, I could never be so. 

I just 'wish you were here' and pull my heart from the floor....
