The monster

I've closed it up and locked it tight and for a long time I seem all right. And then it happens in the night the monster creeps up in my sight. My mind it keeps me full of fright, as the memories explode like dynamite. I tried to push them back inside but they come gushing out like a landslide. Then I'm back to where I started, way back when I was broken hearted. I shed a couple tears and I go back to bed trying to rid the pictures from my head. I'll never have peace until I'm dead I'll never have answers that you have said. I inherited this monster that you gave to me, so I'll shove it back inside its box until it comes back to creep.
