" THE OFFERINGS OF THE DAY "

As the sun peeked above the gardens hedges,
I heard a sweetness, whispering at me
As though, the morning fairy's pledges
Were a supple seduction, enticing me
To drink in, the offerings of the day...

And so, as I rose, to wander the castle gardens
I prayed the whispering would, with me, stay
All the world I saw or knew, seemed to beg pardon
Purple-curtained, and fringed with gold, as if to say
Sip sweetly from, the offerings of the day...

Looped, in many a wind-swung dragonfly's wings,
I could still hear the whispering of this fairy tale place,
In my soul, the fairies danced, and every flowers petal did sing
I was rich, in magnolias, and wondrous warmth from suns rays
Where I did so happily consider, the offerings of the day...

When, most suddenly, I heard my mother call to me
I was, alas, not ready for the magic, to end
When just as suddenly, it came to me
I ran past my mother and into the chapel,
Where, I fell to my knees, and prayed
For God, had truly blessed me
With, the offerings of the day...
