The Park Bench
Whenever I used to get depressed,
I used to visit a bench;
Exactly in the middle of a park.
Surrounded by silence all around me,
Made me a bit peaceful and calm.
The lush green grass,
Now covered with a golden trail.
Oh! It was an autumn season,
When the leaves became a bit dismay.
The Park Bench,
Has a special place in my heart.
This was the place,
Where I met my better half.
I don't exactly remember,
The day and date.
But that day she was wearing a brown hat,
That camouflaged her beauty;
With the Autumn's drying delight.
The girl sat next to me.
On that same Park Bench.
For a second or two, I tried to avoid an eye contact,
But her hat covered her eyes and one could see her cheerful smile.
She adjusted her hat,
As it was dancing with the wind.
I placed one of my hand on top of her hat,
And she placed her's over mine;
And for a second...
She grinned at me,
And then smiled.
From then, we met at the same Park Bench,
Then one fine day I proposed her;
On the same...
Park Bench.
