The place I was born...

The place I was born, the gender I see, the ethnicity I was given, the people I call family, the way I look, from the colour of my hair, eyes, and skin. The size of my feet, hands and the height I with stand. I was never given an option for these, I never chose these from the start. It is who I am and who I ever will be. I was given an easier chance in life from the day I was born, just because who I am. But, I never chose that. It was just where I am from. Even though I have it easy, doesn't mean I don't find it hard. Where ever I go, I still got to face daily obstacles everyone gets in life. Though some of these obstacles will be easier for me to tackle than others, because who I am, where I am from and what I look like. Does not mean I will be able to pass them all. I am privileged from the start because of the colour of my skin, but that doesn't mean I don't feel underprivileged.  

But none of these will decide the person inside of me. What I will become and what I will see, is all down to me. 

The appearance outside will never decide what I am like as a person, who I will become and what I won't become.

I'm the only one who can decide, what the real me will be, not my ethnicity.

I am me, and you are you. Who we are in on the outside, where we stand in society. Can not decide the fate we choose. Only we as ourselves can choose the path we follow.

I have the pen and paper, I write the story and I can be whoever I want to be.
