The poacher

The poacher

His eyes, like shadows, scan the land,
tracking the heartbeat of hare and sand,
a whispered promise to the night he makes,
to capture wild magic before daybreak.

The rabbit’s pulse quickens, senses keen,
as the poacher draws near, unseen.
Their dance unfolds—a primal waltz,
in moon-dappled glades, where secrets exalt.

And as dawn tiptoes over the hills,
the poacher’s heart echoes with thrills.
For in this ancient chase, he finds his grace.
A fleeting connection to nature’s embrace.
