The Poor Pangolin

I’m engrossed watching my t.v.
Well I’ve never heard of this animal before
Ah how cute is a pangolin
But I’m learning facts that I strongly deplore

Such a solitary shy little soul
On any physical contact
He will immediately roll into a ball

Ahh I adore this little unusual bloke
Yet the cruelness & brutality of
His poachers make me want to sadly choke

Simply because of his armour ‘Plate-like’ protective ‘Keratin’ scales
He is hunted down with poachers who spear him & impale

The most trafficked mammal in our world today
No chance of immortality or a decent short life in anyway

My heart is deeply saddened as I learn about his fight
Can us humans have the power
To stop & save the poor pangolin’s plight ?

Let these unique & harmless creatures
Burrow happily in the trees
Sapping ants, termites
Small insects & any passing fleas

Using a very long tapered tongue
You see they have no teeth at all
So they adhere their tiny delicacies 
Clutching onto trees so they don’t fall

How an Earth I haven’t ever heard of these does astonish me
Coz I am in awe at their appearance & their versatility

Let’s strive to help the Pangolin
Please don’t let him go extinct
These nasty poachers are killing
whats left quickly as an eye is blinked?
