Poem -

the poppies

the poppies

when I touched you
like
that
did you tremble?

will you deny it
with laughter
uncomfortably so,
dissect, disassemble?
no matter
we know

what was found
in those moments
as the poppies
stood tall

just a sky and white clouds
there
to witness it all
but tell me...

did you tremble?
