The Problem of a Stubborn Desire
An allegorical commentary on Rom 7:15, with reference to Jeremiah 17:9

Welcome to our house
Phren, you clever nous,
Quiet in like a mouse
And please take off your shoes
.
I am a physis, my name's Psyche
I ride upon a bovine,
Not a bike like a bikey
.
Yes, I split my beast of burden in two
A lazy bovine he is no more
Part of him still eats grass
The other part now just an ass
.
The foal I named Soma
He's strong and galliant
He's training each day
To develop more talent
.
Soma has a side-kick
It's a donkey-headed parrot
I called it Sarx
And, for the record...
Sarx sux!
.
Pneuma can't stand it!
It drives her knarly batty
But Kardia is graceous
Still purrs like a content catty
.
She's easily excited by any main event
She doesn't even realise
That the one has since been rent
.
She can't discern like our Pneuma
Between friend and foe
And I fear little Kardia might end up a ho
.
So I focus on Soma and tune into our Spirit
And Pneuma never disappoints
We are in it to win it!
.
Thus, the race carries on
Despite all the commotion
And I'm certain this year
We will get our promotion
.
We only need to be wise
And not close our eyes
Bridle Sarx's tongue
And don't let Kardia do wrong
.
Cause once Kardia goes awol
The feathers do fly
Then we're covered in 'poo of mule'
Right up to the sky
