The Red Box

Somewhere in a garden
A red box is nailed
To a wooden fence
Which overlooks the farmers field
And beauty

It peeps out
Through the willows
Of a memory tree
I can see it from my window
I like to think
It can
See me

Sometime in the daytime
Small hands
Might post a letter
Small voices
Skipping
Nursery rhymes
Of times
A little better

Magic! You turned a mailbox into a gorgeous poem. Magic.
“…of times a little better”, good to read these words, Marion.
The warmest of wishes,  B

This has so many levels, but the one I get more is communication That a mailbox would one time provide, love this imagery 🌹

I've got such a strong gut feeling that this runs much deeper and is mighty more symbolic than the words here might at first be letting on ..
it makes me smile, but I sense an undercurrent of sadness flowing right through it .. whatever the case may be, it certainly deserves to be noticed, indeed it deserves to be much more than that even, it deserves to be recognised and cherished .. Neville x
