The Return Of The Prodigal Son

I’ve just received a gift for the bright New Year, two days in advance;

My dear son and I decided, to give love another chance!

We’ve been feuding for six months now, but it will finally come to end;

We’ve spoken our apologies, and vowed together e’er to spend!

We both have strong personalities, which in the past have often clashed;

We’ve spewed out in fits of anger, wanton words so unabashed!

But we’ve both now seen our errors, that have driven us apart;

We’ve pledged never ‘gain to go there, and think only with our hearts!

Just like Rembrandt got back his Titus, the return of his prodigal son;

I now have my dear Martin, a new chapter has begun!

I love him very dearly, as I know that he does me;

I know this time will last forever, for my dear Son and for me!
