‘The Roaring Twenties’
I wish I was in the ‘Roaring twenties’
I’d fit into that style
The very thought of being a ‘Flapper’ new woman
Really makes me smile
I adore the fashion Oh so chic
Fringed, straight dresses,
Short bobbed hair
Imagine myself in that era
I’d be in my element if I was there
What a difference twenty years made
New machines & modern technologies
I’d have the latest gadgets
Washer, vacuum & all commodities
Everyday jobs around the household
Wouldn’t be such a chore
Life before the 1920’s
Made housewive’s necessities a bore
Freedom & importance for all the new age ladies
An introduction to birth control
So that meant having fewer babies
The latest dances back then
Going to the local bop
The ‘Charleston’, ‘Cake walk’, ‘Black bottom’ & the ‘Flea hop’
Oh my I’d be out everynight
Burning the ‘Candle at both ends’
Dancing till I dropped
& Hanging out with my ‘Flapper’ friends
