The Sahara Desert

The Sahara Desert

A wilderness bleak from the wildness of the whirling wind
An Unhabitable stretch of desert land thick skinned
Dare no man trudge through endless distance
Yearning for a  hidden path of least resistance

Howling sand storms with blinding light
Nomad’s existence, a constant fight
Nocturnal animals solaced from intense heat
Searching oasis obsolete

A no man’s wasteland, it’s wrath-like hell
Prickly pear cacti with tumbleweed dwell
Cold-blooded snakes their slithering glides
Zig-zagging so speedily from side to sides

Sheer menacing tormented strife
Yields fruitless infinate of uncultivated life
Train’s of Humpback camels,
journeys long untold
Laden with Arab’s treasured gold
These caravans of camels withstand the sweltering sunlight
Humps stocked with fat endures
their plight

The Sahara Desert
3.5 monstrous, million square miles,
An arid, unproductive outskirt
Native & mankind tormented exiles
Is this the most dangerous migrant journey of all?
Alas, too many desperate souls have failed this treacherous trawl
