THE SALTY SEA

With tears in these eyes 

The noise of life travelling the 

Bitumen street; 

On a wet rainy day 

One tear makes a river 

Flowing into the gutter 

Towards a stream,  

A river 

Into the sea 

That which the salt 

Of the sea 

Taste 

In these ganges

Day and night 

One asks of the billions of stars 

Why are we here, 

Upon this unforgiving earth 

When the world is edging 

Towards the nuclear 

As we cry for mercy 

Upon the sinful street 

In clothes dirty 

Feet broken 

Diseases ravaging 

The mental harassing the weak 

Only the rich can pay their penance 

For the poor lay helpless 

Upon a dirt floor 

God help the poor 

As the ganges bring 

A tear to the ocean 

A salt to the human sacrifice 

Cry; cry these tears 

Before it is too late 

And drown; 

DROWN 

DROWN

Swallowing; deeper

Into and unto

The salty sea
