~ The Same Old Desires ~

~ The Same Old Desires ~

That vain and oh so humble lore
Where one's will does triumph to advise
The ways of old do, in circles, explore
Man's need to ever move forward
With the morning clock re-advise
What time, each day, will morning discover
Forever searching, forever moving forward
And for what do we ever-search?
The exact same desires as men of old
It's Love of passion we nobly disguise
And it's Love-of- Life
We dole out in such small rations
For it's so difficult to express ourselves
And then find ourselves, still welcome...

Then, when we truly express our heart
We find we no longer need confession
For it's so difficult to lie to ourselves
And find forthwith
A newly discovered, best friend
A way through the muck and the mire
Of daily clawing forward
Expressing these,
The Same Old Desires,
Repeated,
Over and over again...
