The Shop

I was in the shop the other day
Getting what was needed for dinner

Onions, pasta and chicken

When a man walked past
Big and burly clearly just coming from a long day of hard work
He smelled exactly like you

The dam broke and it came flooding in

The way you hugged me
The way my clothes smelt like you after I wore your jacket at your rugby game
The way I thought of you every time I put on that white t-shirt
The way your scent still lingered in my home after you left
And how I desperately tried to get rid of it so that my mom wouldn't know

Onions, pasta and chicken

I should get those
