The Siren Hidden Within

“Sing me a lullaby”, the moon whispered that night
To the sad young girl by the water, staring through the waves.
She then looked up from the ocean’s perpetuous haze,
And into the beautiful moon, which shone with such light.

And out from her mouth came the sweetest of sounds,
With such a clarity and passion that which she had found.
Her fear then faltered, as her courage then did rise.
She had found her self worth, to her enemy’s demise.

Her captivating melody, too soon came to a close,
Eyes now widened open, no more tears arose
For she knows the truth of her heart, now able to see.
With her inner demons vanquished, now finally free.

“Your true enemy was none other than you never believing,
Your life is too dear, a precious gift worth receiving.
Always believe and have faith in yourself,” the moon did plea,
“For that is the beacon to guide you home across the murky sea.”

The moon faded into the night, waves crashing against the shore
The girl’s heart had more songs to sing, a true siren from lore.
