Poem -
~ THE SPIN ~
As a thinning, rain-soaked, pedestrian
Resembles human fragility
So do my impressions
Of the dark and light
Within the soul
Of all humanity
In all its sacred splendor
In all its vehement drudgery
In all its rain-soaked frivolity
Such is the condition
Such is this momentary rendition
Of the spin...
Spinning webs with technology
Spinning falsehoods with theology
Spinning love songs for the many
Spinning faster all the time
Until we see what we want to see
And never ever remembering
That it's our souls that need a feed
To manifest the very best in you and me
Can't you see
It's time we begin
Time we take a dive
Deep
Into
The spin....

Love the use of the word spin here, gives an infinite feel to existence and reminds me of how cyclical things are

The manic whirlind that is life rarely leaves time to ponder the bigger picture until one day we wake up...for whatever reason and realise it is the one thing that we should have been pondering Tony, after all if life is just a moment... eternity is eternal and so for that very reason it would make sense to have nurtured the only thing we will need when we get there...our souls...Great write X
WOW MARION!!......what a comment!!...so true!!......Fortunately for several of us on this site....we do have time for that kind of thought because retirement or disability has afforded us the time.....but isn't that the way its designed?......we begin those heavy meditations and insightful soul searching after having survived the early years of the whirlwind.....I have been searching and meditating since I was 18 years old......and many of the great questions I have found answers for.......funny thing is....when you begin answering those questions you begin to learn just how unique you are....... while being a part of a whole that makes us the same....and realizing that the answers are different for each of us....hell, i don't know....I just REALLY appreciate having had the opportunity to be here at all.....and in the words of Jerry Garcia!!~ "What a long, strange trip it's been..".....I think Garcia wrote that...or one of the others in "The Dead".....anyway, thanx for listening to me pontificate!!....smiles......T xo : )
I have probably got this all wrong (I am often wrong) so forgive me if I am. Anyway, here goes — as I read this I see a romance, or potential one, love gets us truly in a spin — it is often referred to as whirlwind. I know other things can get us into a spin but for some reason this lovely poem speaks to me of a beautiful romance. Of course that might just be because I have been reading a lot of love poems just lately ( on here and elsewhere) it's in the air x
Wow BEING ME!!...It's kind of you to take the time.....the fact that you came up with that interpretation lets me know that you spent some time with this and for that I am most grateful.....and I can see how and why you might come to that conclusion because so many of the 'keywords' ARE there....but my intent was not romantic in nature...more an observation of the soul of humanity and the beauty of it all....and just how fragile and beautiful the whole of it is......I DO so look forward to your impressions my friend and I do hope you continue to do so....thanx tons for this.......stay groovy girlfriend!!......Lots of love to you and yours!!......T xo : )
