The Starman And The Sorceress

The Starman And The Sorceress

Jeff Bridges had the lead in a great movie; “The Starman” was its name;

He was from a faraway planet; they had special powers from where he came!

He sees a large deer that has been slaughtered, tied to the top of an old auto;;

With his gift he brings it back to life again, and sets it free to go!

Then this season on HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, the character named Jon Snow;

Is stabbed to death by several men, who think that he betrayed them so!

As he lies dead atop a table, a sorceress comes’ him near;

She bends down and speaks some magic, and his life then reappears!

I was thinking about the “Starman” and “The Sorceress”, and the miracle they would do;

If I could have had one of them beside me, the night that I lost you!

The “Starman” could have touched you, and back down from Heaven send;

Or “The Sorceress” say words of magic, and brought you back to me again!

These are the wishful thinking of a dreamer, whose soul cries every day;

Who would do anything in his power, to have you back to stay!

But this dreamer is also a realist, and realizes that this will never be;

But you dwell in my heart forever, and are always close to me!

Hi Larry I have seen Starman  but know nothing about
Game of thrones,  but you give a good description,
I think a dream like this would be great if it could only
come true. your loss of Nico and my own losses would be no more :-)
reality is so tough at times I enjoyed the glimpse into your dream
my friend. I am away from Friday until Monday, you and Lynda
take care   love n hugs  Debs xox

Hi Dear Debs,

I actually tried to make this poem not only for Nico, but for anyone who has had to deal with the loss of a dear soulmate.  As usual, thank you for your lovely comment, and have a great little getaway, wherever you are headed.

Hugs, Peace and Love,

xox Larry

Hi My Brother Poet Tony,

To know that you are drawn to my poetry is a great honor for me, because yours, to me, is the culmination of what I strive for.  I have found on Cosmo, the Brother that I never had.

Peace, Love and Rockets,

An awesome and creative write brother poet. To use this idea to create such a profound and thought provoking piece of prose I had to comment and show my love of this. These are the writes that show such real talent that in everyday life a show or movie can remind us of the reality and give us cause to dream. Good one my friend. Peace.

WOW my Larry!!

This is just so beautiful and I really am glad that I read it today because it says so much of how I am feeling right now. I love the way you have combined it all with the film, although like Deborah, I have never seen Game of Thrones. This piece clearly shows your wonderful talent as do all your poems and I just love them all my darling.

Well done my love, for a superbly well written and stunning piece of work. You are so talented and just so wonderful and I`ll love you and Linda to infinity and all the way home again.

G xx

Hi Our Dear G,

Your words and love mean the world to me!  I guess the poem came at the right time for you, for sometimes fantasizing can bring some sunshine to the darkness.  How about if the two of us dry our eyes, and write each other something light and funny?  Ladies first, my love!

Love you from both of us,

Linda and Larry
