The Stillness Of Silence đź’™

I swear I heard an early dew drop on a cold and misty morn

Where the stillness of a silence seemed an unwelcome forewarn 

As I watched dewiness drizzled on the hedge of hawthorn

Whilst twisted twigs entwined and tangled all tattered and torn

One could have heard a pin drop as my breath made a subtle sound

As consciously I realised I was the only one around

I had hunted everywhere but there was no life to be found

And in yon hush of happenstance my heart did pound

I really can’t explain why on earth I felt so wary

It was as if something was so magical and I might espy a fairy

A chilliness took my breath away in the dampness that was airy

Now I know that in a quintessence of quietude I found it very scary…
