THE STREET WHERE I LIVE

On the street where I live there are tales to tell
Some residents do poorly and others do well
Next door have a baby who cries all night
Mum and dad always look tired by morning light

The other side of me is a very lonely old man
Oriental in origin spitting image of Charlie Chan
Directly opposite me is a friendly gay pair
One appears so young the other has no hair

At the end of my street is a real wheeler dealer
Lives I'm told with a lady who's a spiritual healer
The rich man on my street lives at number four
Sparkling new windows and a shiny front door

With regards to me my curtains are always drawn
My property needs a facelift as does my lawn
I wouldn't change the street where I reside
Fills me with emotion and a sense of pride
