The struggle of a delicate daffodil ❄️

The struggle of a delicate daffodil ❄️

One by one taking turns
We push our buds thru Earth’s soily crust
Can one envisage the struggle
a delicate daffodil has with that last attempt at a thrust ?

‘Come what may,’ we succeed
Standing so proud in the blink of an eye
We are Mother nature’s flowering tribute to Spring
Yellow masses to beautify

Whilst the month of March is our beginning
Alas, it sometimes can be our fate
As the ‘Jet stream’ does veer direction blowing North wind’s to a garden gate

Battering, bedraggling our fragile stalks
Bending our stems till we break
Knocking our golden heads & loosing our lustre
Blooming no more for Heaven’s sake

Who was our creation ?
Should we not blossom in June ?
Surely a more sensible month to survive ?
Howling winds with heavy snow make it impossible to stay alive

All hail the humble Daffodil
A pure perfection of colour & light
One of the prettiest flower’s one will ever see
Such an explosion of sheer delight
