Poem -

THE SWING KING

Today the swing doesn't swing anymore
Used it for the first time at the age of four
When I reached the age of fourteen
The swing was nowhere to be seen

Kids of my own at the age of twenty four
Swings to them went out like a dinosaur
Memories of a swing gone from my mind
No longer a focal point no longer enshrined

My birthday today and I am now an old man
The kids visit me whenever they can
Summer is close and it's the last day of spring
The only thing I recall is sitting on a swing
