Her last moments were peaceful
The pain has numbed and she glowed
with a gentle radiance that was reminiscent
Of the  bloom of the maytime of her life.
She asked of me is it raining my love
I have always loved the rain.
I whispered yes my Angel
It has rained all morning.
Take me into the rain darling
Dance with me in the rain
One last time.
I carried her to the garden
Her frame now as light as feathers.
Later as she left me
I held her in my arms by the window
Two white doves were sheltering
Upon the window sill as if waiting
To take her to heaven.
I folded my heart into a love letter
and placed it into her soul whispering
For you to read on rainy days my love
