THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN

A long way to go before I arrive 
Just have to hope I make it alive
Climbing this mountain will be brutal I know
My father will say son I told you so

I never shirk a challenge and will persevere 
Overcome any worry and dispel any fear
Some days will be better than others it's true
Reaching the top is something I have to do

Must have been climbing now for twenty days
Lose any sense of time in these mountainous ways
When and if I reach the top I will gladly say
Just so thankful that everything turned out okay
