Poem -

The Truth About Us

Depression is a heavy thing
A lot of people face
The fight is never easy
But this should give a little, hateful taste

Whether it be bullies, cowards or self loathing
The hurt is hard to stop
The fear, the anger and helplessness
Gives one almighty chop

There’s a lot of things to think about
And boy do we do that
With blaming, curse words and hateful thoughts
We wonder where we’re at

Hardly anyone understands
What is wrong with us
No matter how much they try to help
We hope they’d, for once, give up

Tears are a regular occurrence
And once they start it’s hard to stop
They leak out of our glassy eyes
Onto our soaking top

There’s a hidden meaning behind all this
Although people tend not to care
The disappearing confidence
Makes it really hard to share
